1. WELCOME FROM HEATHER!

Hi all and happy March! Well, hopefully spring weather will arrive this month - getting really tired of all that white stuff! What happened to that wonderful spring-like weather we had in January? Mother Nature battling with Ol' Man Winter again - ah yes...the age old battles between men and women :-)A note on International Dance Day: On the 29th of April, as every year since 1982, Dance Day will be celebrated all over the world by the international community of dancers and dance enthusiasts. For more info on International Dance Day, check out this website: http://www.cid-unesco.org/html/dance_day.html Let me know what you think about Dancing On Air and if you have any suggestions for ballroom dance topics you'd like to see addressed; or you'd like to submit clean jokes, comical anecdotes, stress reliever ideas for dance competitions and/or shows, your most embarrassing and comical experiences (we'll laugh with you!), fun ideas, dance hints, how you started dancing, your news (any dance news, competitions, announcements),etc., Comments? Questions? Just need to vent about the coffee you spilled all over yourself this morning? I'd love to hear from you. Give me a shout at info@whimsies-online.com. Have a great month and don't forget, keep in touch...May you always have Love to Share, Health to Spare and Friends that care. Remember, Dancing On Air is for you - we want to bring a little sunshine and laughter into your life! Keep dancin'! or as a fellow dancer once told me: Carpe Dancem (seize the dance)

Whimsically yours, Heather(meet the artist: http://www.whimsies-online.com/theartist.htm)

2. "Pitfalls in Ballroom Dancing"~ by Dr. Victor Jean Ouellette ~My toes, my toes, my aching toes I got clobbered in a one foot pose.- It can break up a marriage if she wants to lead. If the lady is leading then the man is a wimp. The good thing is that the wimp phase of the learning curve usually doesn't last too long.- You buy nice new expensive special suede soled dance shoes, then some beginner steps all over them. LOL- Dancing with a dance instructor is mega intimidation. It doesn't matter how nice or how good the dance instructor is, dancing with them is always intimidating.- Never dance close when dancing with a dance instructor.- You learn a nice dance step in dance class then go to a REAL DANCE and are standing on the floor with a blank look on your face trying to remember what that great step was that you just learned.- Playing bumper cars can be fun sometimes but on the dance floor it means no FRAME. Gees, only the initiated will know what that means. Read more here: http://www.ballroom-dance-resource.com/pitfalls.htm
